Food Waste Information
From February 2016 it is no longer possible to recycle food waste in the green bins along with garden waste. All cooked and raw food waste including meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, pasta, pulses, baked goods and tea/coffee residues must be disposed of in the grey household bin which will be collected every two weeks on your non recycling day.
Lancashire County Council is responsible for reprocessing and disposing of all the household waste collected across the county. Unfortunately, the high cost of processing food waste mixed with garden waste means that Lancashire County Council can no longer offer the service and as such we are required to amend our collection arrangements.
